YOUNG DOG COURSEWORK Young Dog Coursework introduces age appropriate sequences to develop handling skills, obstacle commitment, and teamwork — all while keeping the dog’s body and mind safe and supported. This stage is ideal for dogs with foundational training who are ready to begin short, simple jump and tunnel sequences. Handlers and dogs will work through flowing 5 - 8 obstacle sequences using: • Low Jumps • Open and slightly curved tunnels • A single tight turn on a jump in sequence Focus areas include: • Handler & dog line, obstacle focus & commitment • Timing and execution of appropriate crosses • Reading motion and building verbal cues • Drive and connection while navigating simple challenges This 3.5 hour clinic will help build fluency in handling patterns without physical strain, making it ideal for young or green dogs preparing for more advanced skills and full courses. Dogs must be proficient in jump and tunnel skills
