Service Description

YOUNG DOG HANDLING SKILLS Young Dog Handling skills focuses on teaching agility dogs — typically between 8 and 20 months how to read their handler’s body language, follow verbal cues, and develop the teamwork needed for future success in the ring. This stage bridges the gap between foundation training and full equipment and course work, emphasizing thoughtful progression with increasing speed. Dogs learn to confidently follow handling patterns like front, blind, and rear crosses, tight turns and serpentines using lower jumps. The emphasis is on understanding motion, commitment, and verbal direction — all while reinforcing focus, motivation, and building drive for agility. Whether you’re preparing for beginner competition or just building a solid communication system, Young Dog Handling gives your dog the skills to become a responsive, agile teammate without overloading their developing body. This 3.5 hour clinic will focus on short sequences using jumps and tunnels to encourage speed and confidence. Dogs should be proficient on jumps and tunnels.
